Meet Dr. Yougyeong (April) Lee, DPT
Dr. Yougyeong (April) Lee is a New York State licensed Physical Therapist with extensive clinical and academic experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, musculoskeletal conditions, and chronic pain. She earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physical Therapy in South Korea before completing her Post-Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree at the University of North Georgia.
Before practicing in the United States, Dr. Lee worked in hospitals and outpatient clinics in South Korea, treating patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions. Her experience includes knee and hip conditions, chronic pain, and post-surgical rehabilitation. She combines manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and individualized rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, reduce pain, and help patients return to the activities that matter most to them.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lee served as a Lecturer in a Physical Therapy program, teaching undergraduate students in both academic and clinical subjects. Her background as both a clinician and educator allows her to explain complex conditions in a clear and practical way, helping patients better understand their treatment and take an active role in their recovery.
Dr. Lee has pursued additional professional training in myofascial release, Kinesio Taping, posture and movement therapy, and Pilates-based therapeutic exercise. Her clinical interests include orthopedic rehabilitation, manual therapy, chronic pain management, therapeutic exercise, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
Dr. Lee believes that every patient deserves care tailored to their individual needs, goals, and lifestyle. She is committed to providing individualized, evidence-based care that helps patients move with greater confidence, restore function, and get back to the activities they enjoy.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Lee enjoys experiencing new cultures, visiting museums, and cooking. She values continuous learning and enjoys discovering new perspectives both within and beyond the field of physical therapy.
